Macey LOVES giving kisses. Animals, babies, kids, books, pictures, stuffed animals, dolls... basically anything except adults- she rarely kisses adults for some reason :)

At 9 months Macey weighs 20 lb. 4 oz. (75th percentile) and is 29 1/4 in. tall (94th percentile).

She crawls all over the place and pulls up on everything. She stands by herself really well and has taken one step by herself, but isn't quite ready to walk yet. 

She says "Dad", "Mum" for mom :), "Ay!" when she claps, "Um" when she eats or wants food, and "I" for hi when she waves. She makes other sounds, but those are the ones that I think she uses for actual words, not just jabbering.

She still loves Bruce and he lets her pull, grab, and do whatever she wants to him. 

She is VERY social. Sometimes when she's in a bad mood, I just take her to the grocery store or to run errands because she loves people. She smiles at everyone that walks by, waves... she's in a great mood as long as there's people around her!

She is such a fun, sweet, smiley little girl!

She's been crawling for a few weeks now, but I kept forgetting to film her. So here's a video from while we were in Spokane- she pulls up on everything now too :)

October is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness month (October 15th was Awareness Day).

This song is perfect for Zane and all of the other babies "gone too soon".

Not a day goes by that we don't think of him.

8 Months/Botanica Halloween Day

Debbie took us to Botanica for their Halloween kid's day on the 12th, when Macey turned 8 months. 

Colton was spiderman, Emery was a poodle, and Macey was an elephant (Tara got her costume for her right after we found out she was a girl).

At 8 months, Macey weighs around 19 1/2 pounds (80th percentile weight) and is about 28 1/2 inches long (90th percentile height). She said her first word on the day she turned 8 months ("Dad") and she will crawl a little bit now. Not more than a couple of "steps", and she leaves one of her legs up to do it- one knee down and the other one is up so she is kind of walking with one leg. 

She loves to clap and does it a lot.

She loves magnets. I just set her down in front of the fridge with magnets low enough for her to grab and she will play for long periods of time.

Loves baths and being naked. She hates bibs and will spend most of her eating time trying to pull it off. For dinner we just take her shirt off so she doesn't need a bib.

She still loves to swing and will walk her walker to the back door to look at her swing.

She's still very friendly and loves people, especially kids.

(She said it a couple of times before I got the camera out.)

Chad tried to bribe her with a french fry to make her say it again. She gave him a cheesy smile instead.

7 Months

At 7 months, Macey weighs about 18 1/2 lbs (I weighed her while holding her on our scales) which is around 75th-80th percentile and is 28 inches long (90th percentile).

She's started trying to crawl, but doesn't have it down yet. She loves swimming pools and bath time. She eats pretty much anything and loves chewing on stuff she can hold (bananas, pizza crust, french fries...).

She is really friendly and goes to anyone still. She loves watching other kids- Colton and Emery, kids in nursery, girls I babysit. And she's still in love with Bruce (and dogs/animals in general).

She turned into a big daddy's girl this month, which is really fun to watch! She reaches for Chad and smiles at him. She also gets excited when he comes home, but it's more just because she likes watching Bruce go crazy and jump and whine.

She loves books now- sometimes when I'm giving her a bottle before bed, she will even push away and reach for her bookshelf (it's right next to the rocking chair).

She's still really into paper

This face cracks me up- it's kind of a "fake cry", when she wants something. 

It's usually followed by a smile :)

She can stand for a few seconds at a time by herself- we let go and then count how long she'll stay up. The longest has been 15 seconds.

Sometimes her laugh sounds like a cry. At first I thought Bruce was coming to "check" on her... but really I think he just wanted the attention that Macey was getting :)

Behnaz is a good friend of my brother and sis-in-law. She's from Iran and was teaching Macey how to play soccer (or "football" as she calls it).

New Shoes

6 Months

 

She's really likes books and toys, but I think her favorite "toy" is actually paper.

She loves to grab envelopes, wrappers, magazines... anything made of paper

She still loves Bruce and looks for him when we get home from places.

He lets her grab his hair and he lays with her, sits with her, licks her...

I was able to put a tiny clip in the few strands she has on top :)

At 6 months Macey weighs 17 lb. 4 oz. (75th percentile) and is 27 inches tall (85th percentile).

She loves food and eats everything I've given her so far- she's not picky at all yet. She "sleeps" through the night now- she actually wakes up one or sometimes two times but cries herself back to sleep pretty quickly so I'm not getting up with her anymore which is really nice.
